Is a telescope on your gift list? Try before you buy at Lake Afton Public Observatory’s Show & Tell Night

This is so cool! Lake Afton Public Observatory is going to have a Show & Tell night where you can come and look at a variety of different telescopes (including their huge 16″ telescope, of course)!

This is a great idea for anyone who has a telescope on their holiday wish-list. With Black Friday coming up, you’ll definitely want to know what to look for before you buy something. That way, when you see one on sale you know whether you’re really getting a bargain or not.

Members of the LAPO staff and the Kansas Astronomical Observers will have their own telescopes set up at the observatory so you can look at them and ask questions about what to look for when purchasing a quality telescope.

They’ll also have telescopes set up outside for observing the night sky.

And you’ll also be able to look through the observatory’s 16″ telescope inside the dome. They say the moon will be well-lit that night along with Mars and Saturn.

This is such a great way to step into the world of astronomy – whether you’re an adult or a kid. Being able to ask the experts and get a little help and guidance is extremely valuable. …you could avoid making an *astronomical* mistake when buying a telescope!
