Live the Good Life for Less & Never Miss a Deal

Iron ChileHead Competition: Food Trucks and Local Brew Samples

Johnson’s Garden Centers will host its 4th Iron ChileHead Festival on Saturday, August 20, 2016.

At least eight Wichita food trucks and six local brewers will be serving up their own recipes made with roasted Hatch Green Chiles from Johnson’s Garden Center. Live music will be provided by the Bolzen Beer Band, a party-punk-polka trio (don’t ask me – sounds like fun though) from Lincoln, Nebraska.

There is no charge if you just want to show up to purchase the delicious green-chile-inspired dishes from the food trucks, but a $15 ticket gets you unlimited beer sampling from the local brewers, along with a commemorative sampling glass and an Iron ChileHead sticker.

Tickets are available in advance here, and according to festival organizers you should purchase them early because only a very few will be available to purchase at the event itself.

The 2016 Iron ChileHead Fest is from noon to 3 p.m. at Johnson’s Garden Centers west location. The garden center will also have fresh-roasted Hatch Green Chiles for sale during the event.

Date: Saturday, August 20, 2016
Time: Noon – 3 p.m.
Location: Johnson’s Garden Center, 2707 W. 13th Street, Wichita, KS
