Hotel at Old Town is personally my favorite hotel in town. My husband and I have stayed there multiple times, and it’s the hotel where our wedding guests stayed. We chose it because of the location and because it is locally owned and operated. Plus, it’s a charming hotel, and the rooms are fantastic. I love all the local touches this hotel provides, from the Wichita memorabilia to the history of the building.
Fun Fact: Hotel at Old Town has FREE live Jazz every Friday and Saturday night from 6 – 9:30 pm. You don’t have to stay at the hotel to enjoy the music and grab a cocktail from the bartender, Steve. He will keep you entertained all night.

In addition to the general updates made in 2024, the hotel now has a designated aviation floor, which houses artifacts and artwork that honor its hometown, the Air Capital of the World. Guests can enjoy real pieces of history supplied by the Kansas Aviation Museum and the B-29 Doc Hangar Education and Visitors Center. The floor also features photographs and art from past and current Wichita aviation companies including Swallow, Travel Air, Cessna, Beechcraft, Textron Aviation, Boeing, Spirit, Bombardier, FlightSafety International, and Wichita area airports. Rooms on the aviation floor also include original photography from renowned local photographer Brett Schauf.
“It’s such a privilege to display our pride in being part of the Air Capital’s story, especially since so many aviation-related guests have stayed here over the years,” Finlay added. “Wichita has played an incredible part in the development of the aviation industry across the globe. Now guests staying on this floor will get a feel for that every time they stay with us.”
