A new Goodwill is opening on March 1st, 2024, at 29th & Greenwich. Situated at 11027 E 29th St N on a spacious 2.2-acre property, the new retail store boasts a cutting-edge 24,000 square-foot facility. Goodwill Industries is a nonprofit organization that operates thrift stores.
Goodwill is where donated goods are sold to the public at affordable prices. The revenue generated from these sales is used to fund the organization’s employment and training programs. These programs offer job training, career development, and support services to individuals facing challenges such as disabilities, lack of education, criminal backgrounds, or other barriers to employment.
Goodwill’s retail stores play a pivotal role in supporting its mission of creating opportunities for individuals facing disabilities and employment barriers. In 2023 alone, Goodwill’s mission facilitated over 4,300 program services, positively impacting the lives of Kansans statewide.
“Every purchase and donation made at Goodwill directly contributes to supporting individuals with disabilities and barriers,” emphasized Raymond Dondlinger, Chair of the Goodwill board. “For instance, Goodwill operates the NexStep Alliance adult education program, offering GED instruction classes for those pursuing a Kansas high school diploma, as well as English-as-a-Second Language and Citizenship integration classes.”
