Did you fry your turkey? It’s delicious, but what to do with the big vat of oil when you’re done?
Sedgwick County thought of that ahead of time and sent out the following press release about free disposal for our leftover turkey oil:
Residents of Sedgwick County can bring their used turkey oil to the Household Hazardous Waste Facility at 801 Stillwell in Wichita to be recycled. Best of all, there is no cost to Sedgwick County residents for the service.
The HHW facility will be closed on Nov. 24 and 25, but will resume normal operating hours following the holiday. Hours of operation are as follows:
9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday to Friday
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays
Closed Sundays and Mondays
For more information about the HHW facility, including accepted items, visit the Sedgwick County website at www.sedgwickcounty.org.
Thanks, Sedgwick County. 🙂
