The Wichita Art Museum and the Tallgrass Film Association are teaming up again this year for a free night of music, film and fun. This free event will be held outside in the museum’s amphitheater.
Tunes + Tallgrass on the Terrace happens on Friday, June 15. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and live music from The Astronauts begins at 7 p.m., followed by the movie Arrival at 9 p.m.
“The 2016 science fiction thriller and Academy Award nominee for best picture, Arrival, tells the story of a linguist recruited by the military to communicate with alien lifeforms after 12 mysterious spacecraft land around the world. Featuring Amy
Adams and Jeremy Renner. Be ready to climb aboard an alien ship. The movie aligns with Jump!Star, a multi-disciplinary collaborative project with Tallgrass Film Association, Symphony in the Flint Hills, and Harvester Arts. If you haven’t yet met the new Tallgrass director Paul Melroy, come on this evening to meet and mingle with him and other Tallgrass staff.”
Bring your lawn chairs and blankets for seating, a Frisbee if you like, and some cash for the food trucks and cash bar. Admission to Tunes + Tallgrass on the Terrace is FREE.
