Free Docent-Led Tours at Wichita Art Museum

Sharing is caring!

Preston Singletary: Raven and the Box of Daylight on exhibition at Wichita Art MuseumOn exhibition now at Wichita Art Museum is a dynamic, theatrical gallery experience that tells the Native American story of Raven, the white bird in darkness that brings light to the world. During the months of February, March, and April, the museum will be offering free docent-led tours of the exhibit, “Preston Singletary: Raven and the Box of Daylight.”

The tours are free with museum admission or membership from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on select dates. (See schedule below.)

On select Saturdays, when admission to the museum is free, you can look for docents with red “Ask Me” buttons from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Docent-led tours of Preston Singletary: Raven and the Box of Daylight at Wichita Art Museum

If you’ve never engaged with a museum docent or gone on a docent-led tour, you should know that it makes for an entirely different experience! I learn so much and enjoy museum exhibitions much more whenever there’s someone knowledgeable and enthusiastic to point out all the details and/or explain the history of something. I can highly recommend it!

Please note (February and March dates only): Due to construction, WAM’s main entrance is closed. Enter the museum on the east side of the building through the Living Room doors. Look for the Tom Otterness sculpture Dreamer’s Awake near the doors to the temporary entrance. In addition to WAM’s parking lot, visitor parking is available across Museum Boulevard south of the museum.
