Do you rue the day that “talkies” were invented? Me neither, but it would still be fun to watch a silent movie the way it would have been seen when it was still a new release.
The Wichita Scottish Rite Center, which was built back when the only IMAX was the night sky over your backyard, is hosting a free silent movie on Friday, August 27th. The center has a 700-seat auditorium, proscenium stage, and a stained glass dome. Incongruous to all that granduer, a $5.00 hot dog supper will be available before the movie. Doors open at 6 p.m. The General, a comedy starring Buster Keaton, begins at 7 p.m.
