The public is invited to attend a free screening of the full-length documentary, Indians in Aviation, which will be shown in its entirety this month at the Mid-America All-Indian Center, along with a presentation by the film’s maker.
The 90-minute documentary, which was commissioned by the Indian Center and put together by local filmmaker Doug Robertson, highlights the previously untold stories of the American Indians who moved to Wichita during World War II to work at Boeing Wichita, Cessna Aircraft Co. and Beech Aircraft.
This year marks the fifth anniversary of the film that compiles these stories of those who have sacrificed for our country.
The screening is free and open to the public and will be held at the Indian Center on September 21 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
