Friends University’s Community Orchestra will present a public concert for the first time since 2019 on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at 2 p.m.
UPDATE: Due to a chilly weather forecast, the orchestra concert location has been changed to the Garvey Athletic Gymnasium – still on the Friends Campus, and the time is still the same! 🙂
The performance will be outdoors on the Rose Window Plaza on the Friends University Campus at 2100 W. University Ave. in Wichita, Kansas.
Admission is free and no tickets are required. Some seating will be provided but concert goers are invited to bring a blanket or lawn chair.
School policy requires face coverings and social distancing.
The concert will include music featuring popular composers: Beethoven, Brahms, Bach and more.
The Friends University Miller Competition winners from 2020 and 2021 include Samantha Scantlin (voice) and Alison Parker (flute). They will be honored and featured as soloists.
