VUDU has just launched a new, free, ad-supported service they’re calling AVOD
. All you need is an account and you can start watching free today. (I’ve got School of Rock playing in the background as I type this. 🙂 )
They told affiliates today that thousands of movies and TV shows are available to watch for free with limited commercials.
I don’t know much more about it than that, but it looks like it’s going to be a permanent feature. Getting a VUDU account is free. You can watch online or via a smart TV, Roku, or other streaming devices. See what’s available here:
Our family has had a VUDU account for years because we can watch movies the same day they’re available in the video store. (It isn’t necessarily cheaper, but we don’t have to leave the house to rent a movie and we don’t have to remember to return the movies when we’re done, which can be a money-saver!)
