Free breakfasts, lunches and snacks will be offered to children 18 years old and younger at 44 locations in Wichita as part of the Kid Power Café Summer Food Service Program, May 22 – August 11.
The free meals are available to all students, not just students who receive free/reduced meals during the school year. Menus, locations and times can be found at www.usd259summerfood.org.
Kid Power, along with the Veggie Pals, will help promote the Kid Power Café with a special visit and dance on Tuesday, May 30, 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at Chisholm Trail Elementary, 6015 Independence in Park City.
New this year are two outdoor locations, West Douglas Park and Schweiter Park, to better serve children living near those areas of Wichita.
A related program – but run by a different organization – is Filling the Gap, which I wrote about when they offered free lunch for kids during spring break.
