Air up your tires and bike to work on National Bike to Work Day and people will just GIVE you free food (if you’re riding in the right place at the right time).
Friday, May 17, 2013 is National Bike to Work Day. In the morning, members of the Wichita Bike Committee will be handing out pastries, juice, and water at breakfast stations along the bike paths at the following locations:
- Douglas & Pattie
- Fountain & 2nd Street (Bike Lane)
- Riverside Path near Downtown
- Riverside Path near 13th Street
And later, grab a free lunch from Jimmy Johns when you’re biking through Old Town Square between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. (Old Town Square is where the Warren Theater and the CityArts building – along with other cool businesses – are located, at Mead and 2nd Street downtown.)
The free Bike to Work Luncheon and the Bike to Work Day Breakfast Stations are two of the events on the Wichita Bike Month Calendar. You can find more information, sign up for challenges, and learn about other events that will be taking place during Wichita Bike Month.
