I have so many wonderful memories of Joyland! Carousel Skate Center is letting us relive some of those memories by turning the skate center into Joyland for a day.
For an afternoon, Carousel will fill its skate floor with familiar objects from Joyland such as Louie the Clown, Whacky Shack props and more. There will also be original photos of Joyland, face painting, and people who will be sharing their Joyland stories. For a $6 donation per person, the new Play Zone will also be open.
While this event is free, all donations are accepted. All donations will go towards the Carousel Gardens at Botanica and the restoration of the original Joyland Carousel, which will be the focal point of the garden.
The Joyland for a Day event will be held on Sunday, October 21, from 1-6 p.m. at Carousel Skate Center. Because of the size of the props and carnival games, there will be no skating during this time.
