INTRODUCTION TO RESUME WRITING
Mondays, January 7, 14, 28
9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
This workshop discusses the resume process and is designed to help customers organize their
experience and skills to begin creating a professional resume. Topics include:
- Organizing work history and experience
- Common resume mistakes to avoid
- Transferrable skills
INTERMEDIATE RESUME WRITING: BUILDING A MASTER/ONLINE RESUME
Tuesdays, January 8, 15, 22, 29
9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
This workshop is designed to help customers create a Master/Online Resume , which includes
their entire work history, skills, training and education. Customers may need to return to
complete their resume and/or get one-on-one assistance. Topics include:
- Create a basic resume format with complete work history & experience
- Convert achievements, skills and job responsibilities into “resume speak”
- Utilize resources for researching
ADVANCED RESUME WRITING: TARGETING YOUR RESUME
Thursdays, January 3, 10, 17, 24, 31
9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
This workshop will teach customers how to target their resume to match job postings in a
short timeframe. Customers are to bring an electronic copy of their resume. Topics include:
- Tailoring experience and qualifications into the best resume format
- The importance of using keywords
- Information on how to create cover letters
INTERVIEW SUCCESS
Wednesdays, January 2, 9, 16, 23, 30
1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
This workshop prepares you for today’s interview world by teaching every aspect of the
employment interview process. Topics Include:
- Appropriate interview appearance
- Understanding the interview process
- How to answer tough interview questions
- Interview preparations & research
ONLINE JOB SEARCH
Wednesdays, January 2, 9, 16, 23, 30
9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
This workshop will teach you how to use the Internet as a friendly resource to search for
and apply for employment. Topics of discussion will include:
- Understanding job search websites
- Learning the online application process
- Uploading resumes and cover letters
OUT OF THE BOX! STRUCTURED JOB & NETWORKING
Bi-Weekly on Tuesdays, January 15 and 29
1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
This workshop discusses techniques for maximizing your job search efforts through
organization, planning, and utilizing often overlooked resources. Topics Include:
- Effective use of your job search time
- Organizing your search for maximum impact
- Job search resources
- Networking
