Guitar centers nationwide are offer free guitar lessons, free ukulele lessons, recording workshops for musicians, and other group classes through its Music Mentorship program.
Free guitar lessons for beginners cover introductory skills such as proper playing position, tuning, basic strumming, chords and how to care for your instrument. Instruments will be provided or you may bring your own. Upcoming group lessons are planned for Dec. 27, 28, and 29; Jan. 3, 24, and 31.
Free ukulele lessons for beginners is an hour-long class that gives new players a solid foundation on the uke, from how to hold and strum, to tuning, to some basic chords and even playing a tune. Instruments will be provided or you may bring your own.
Free recording and sound workshops cover a variety of tools and techniques for musicians. Classes include: Recording Made Easy for iPad, Garage Band, and Pro Tools, Dialing in Your Amp, Live Sound 101, and others.
