In honor of Black History Month the Kansas African American Museum will have a free day and special activities Saturday afternoon.
A student group, Future Heroes, will present Day of the Living Museum, which will bring African American legends to life in TKAAM’s upper gallery.
The Future Heroes are the young men who participate in the Real Men, Real Heroes (RMRH) mentoring program. The students meet Mondays during the school year at Chester I. Lewis Academy, Wichita.
The students will present from 1-3 pm Saturday. Saturday is FREE Day at TKAAM with no admission charges all afternoon.
Saturday will also be the final opportunity to see the life work of artist and retired teacher Charles Davis in the Main Gallery Exhibition, “My Love, My, Dream, My 40-Year Journey.”
The Kansas African American Museum, 601 N. Water is open Tuesday – Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturdays 12-4 p.m. validated parking in garage across the street with paid admission.

- Seniors (55+) $5
- Youth (Grades 6-12) $4
- Children (Grades K-5) $3
- Children under 5 FREE
