Just a reminder! The Plain White Ts and Vertical Horizon are performing Saturday night, 7 p.m., August 11, at the Andover Park Amphitheater and tickets are FREE!
The summer concerts at the new CapFed Amphitheater in Andover Central Park have been great! So far, they’ve had John Anderson and Clay Walker, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Quinn Sullivan, Terri Clark and Little Texas out to perform for us in the new outdoor concert venue that just opened at the beginning of this summer.
Now they’ll be closing the summer concert series with the Plain White T’s and special guest Vertical Horizon on August 11 – and tickets to this concert start at the low, low price of free!
Plus, at the end of the concert they’ll be doing a glorious fireworks show! Free concert. Free fireworks. Love! But you’ll need to get your ticket:
Plain White Ts and Vertical Horizon at CapFed Amphitheater
You bring your lawn chairs or blanket and your free ticket for lawn and bowl seating, along with one sealed water bottle per person (if you like), and enjoy this end of summer concert in the park.
Both the lawn and the bowl area have a great view of the stage and are super fun, but if you’d rather have the VIP experience with a catered meal, special parking, and air-conditioned bathrooms, those tickets are $50 per person for every age. Super fans may want to sit right up front, so if that’s you you’ll want to pick up the $25 tickets. You won’t need to bring your lawn chairs for that – seating is provided for both of the premium ticket options.
The concerts have a festival atmosphere and are family-friendly. They have food and drink trucks set up in back so you can arrive early, get a good spot, and enjoy a supper meal. (No outside food or drinks are allowed.) If you have little kids, there’s even a playground area inside the gates.
This would be a great time to gather with family and friends to enjoy the last bit of summer before school starts.
Gates open at 5 p.m. and the concert begins at 7 p.m.
Plain White Ts
American superstar quintet Plain White Ts are probably best known for their singles, “Hey There, Delilah,” “1234,” and Rhythm of Love. Their brand new album, Parallel Universe, will be released just a couple of weeks after their performance here in the Wichita area. Their music is a “unique blend of pop, punk, and melody-driven rock and roll” that appeals to all ages and has a way of getting stuck in your head. 🙂 Here’s one of my favorite Plain White Ts songs:
Vertical Horizon
Vertical Horizon has been around since the 90s, with radio hits like “Everything You Want,” “Best I Ever Had,” “The Lucky One,” “Save Me From Myself,” and “You’re a God.” Lead singer Matt Scannell also wrote “Wish You Were Here” for Cassadee Pope’s band Hey Monday, co-wrote “Come Back Home” with Powter, and often collaborates with Grammy-winner Richard Marx, with whom he co-wrote “When You Loved Me.”
These concerts in the park are such a great, affordable way to have fun this summer. Bring your phone to snap pics to share and use the hashtag #AmpedinAndover!
