Wow! The 2012 Astronomy Day at Lake Afton Public Observatory is this Saturday, and admission is FREE. It looks like it will be a whole day of fun followed by an evening of observing the moon and planets through the observatory’s big telescope.
The day’s activities include rocket-building, watching a CO2-powered go-kart rocket around the grounds, using the telescope to safely observe the sun, and getting a look at the observatory’s giant scale model of the solar system. Science teachers, kids, and astronomy aficionados, do not miss it. 🙂 It’s FREE.
