Here’s something fun, free, and educational for the younger set. Art Start is an hour-long interactive program for preschoolers ages 3–5 from the Wichita Art Museum. Each month, a new theme is presented that relates to the making and meaning of works of art in the museum’s collection. Preschoolers participate in visual arts activities that emphasize the State of Kansas early-learning skills standards and are centered on that month’s theme.
Art Start is free for kids ages three to five years old and their adult chaperone; admission is $3 for children six and older.
Art Start for Families is held on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. and again at 1:30 p.m. Reservations are required to participate in Art Start activities. You can register online or by calling (316) 268-4907. If you have any additional questions, you can email the program at firstname.lastname@example.org.
