The Society of Decorative Painters 2010 Annual International Conference & Expo will be held from May 18 – 22, 2010 at Century II Expo Hall. The expo is open to the public; regular admission is $10 (but you can find a $2 off coupon at decorativepainters.org). Admission is free on Saturday, May 22nd.
Between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., 130 major retailers will be on hand with painting supplies, tools, design packets, and videos for just about every kind of painting. Watch painting demonstrations, try your hand at something new, and rub elbows with some very talented people. The Junior Artists Club booth will also have free make-it, take-it crafts for kids.
Although the pre-registration deadline for conference attendees has passed, you may be able to attend some classes on a space-available basis. Register in person at the conference as early as May 17. Find painting classes for a range of skill levels, from beginner to intensive advanced study, on the class selection page at the Society of Decorative Painters website. Prices and project fee for these classes will vary, and must be paid in full at time of registration.
