This weekend the Kansas Aviation Museum celebrates the Americans of Hispanic descent who have contributed significantly to aviation with a fiesta. The event, dubbed A Volar (which I believe means “to fly”), is from 1-6 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2011. Admission is $5 plus tax per person, kids 3 and under get in free. The museum has invited area firefighters, members of the Air National Guard, the Wichita Police Department, and the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Department to talk about safety and show off their cool safety vehicles. There will also be live music, inflatables, and food vendors. The Kansas Aviation Museum plans to make this an annual event.
