The coupon for free trash disposal is still being offered by Sedgwick County for disposal of bulky items up to $30 or 1000 pounds. (Loads exceeding this limit are accepted, but will be subject to fees.)
You can request the coupon online at sedgwickcounty.org or by calling 660-9110. You’ll need to give them your name and address, and the coupons should be mailed to you within one week of your request.
The coupons must be used before October 31, 2012.
Bulky waste includes furniture, mattresses, appliances, electronics and other items that haulers aren’t able to pick up, but NOT tires, items with Freon or hazardous materials. Before you toss it, check to see if it can be recycled using the recycling guide at www.sedgwickcounty.org.
Only residents of Sedgwick County are eligible for the coupons and must be prepared to haul the trash. Businesses are not eligible.
