Need help with your Energy Bill? The Energy Bill assistance program is available to help with your rising energy bills this winter in Wichita. This can help restore or maintain electricity, natural gas or propane.
The Kansas Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) is a federally funded program that helps eligible households pay a portion of their home energy costs by providing a one-time per year benefit.
To be eligible for this benefit program, you must be a Kansas resident and need financial assistance with home energy costs.

How to Qualify for LIEAP Assistance:
- You must be responsible for paying the home heating and cooling costs.
- Be a United States citizen or have been an eligible legally admitted person for permanent residence.
- Demonstrate a recent history of qualifying payments toward the purchase of heating energy.
- Meet specific income guidelines that vary according to household size and fuel type.
- To qualify for LIEAP, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- ?An adult living at the address must be personally responsible for paying the heating costs at the current residence, payable either to the landlord, utility company, or fuel supplier.
- ?The combined gross income (before deductions) of all persons living at the address may not exceed 150% of the federal poverty level according to the guidelines listed below:
