Do you know someone who is getting married? Tell them about this gown sale! When the Dress Gallery in Delano contacted me about advertising their one-day $99 dress sale, I thought I misunderstood what was on sale. But no – it’s exactly what it sounds like: On June 8, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., the Dress Gallery will have high-quality designer wedding gowns, prom dresses, and tux rentals on sale for $99.
These are overstock and discontinued garments that need to be moved out in order to make room for fall styles, and they are from some of the most amazing designers in the industry: Mori Lee, Jasmine, Alfred Angelo, and more! Because the designers no longer make these dresses, they can be discounted. That means you can get a great bargain, with most of the dresses well over 75% off!
The sale is limited to stock on hand – you can’t order different sizes or colors. There will also be no layaways. Sizes from 4-26 will be available during the sale, but the majority of the dresses are in sizes 8-12. (Keep in mind that bridal sizes differ from regular dress sizes. According to Dress Gallery staff, take your pant size and go up a size or two for bridal sizes.)
The shopping experience during this sale will not be like the typical one-on-one appointment. They expect large numbers of people during the sale, and although there will be knowledgeable consultants on hand to help, they’ll likely be quite busy that day. Don’t expect seating for a large group of people, but do bring your mom or a friend to help zip you up, and bring shoes and any specialty undergarments you’ll need. This is a cash and carry sale – no layaways.
Dress Gallery is a local shop owned by April Huang that opened in 2008. It is a winner of The Knot’s Best of Weddings and a Wedding Wire Favorite. (You may have heard of April when she donated a prom dress to the teacher who rewarded her students for not missing any homework.)
Dress Gallery is located in the historic Delano District at 1007 W. Douglas. Parking is available behind the store or on Douglas.
