The dog park zone of Chapin Park will be renamed “Arson Canine Ashley’s Memorial Dog Park” in a dedication ceremony with the Wichita Park and Recreation Department and the Wichita Fire Department Saturday, October 9, at 10 a.m. Ashley was Wichita’s first arson canine and she worked 161 fire scenes before she retired in 1999. She has 33 arrests
I haven’t seen the park yet, but the press release says it has “…plenty of open space, shade structures, doggy doo bags, water bowls, park benches and time out areas. Many additional features are planned in the near future including water fountains for both humans and dogs.”
Sounds like a fun place!
