Dining on a Dime Cookbook 50% off Summer Sale

Sharing is caring!

I’ve been meaning to introduce Wichita on the Cheap readers to the wonderful Living on a Dime website that is owned and maintained by Tawra Kellam. She’s one of us, living in the Wichita vicinity (for now). Tawra’s blog has tons of helpful articles about saving money, getting out of debt and just generally living on a dime.

Her cookbook, Dining on a Dime has received hundreds of glowing reviews in the past 11 years since its first publication. I haven’t tried it yet because I wanted to wait until I knew I would do something with it. However, today the print version of Dining on a Dime became available for half of its regular price, so today is the day I’m going to get it.

Dining on a Dime is intended to help us cut our grocery budget by using the easy tips and techniques that make cooking at home simpler and make our lives easier. I know that cooking from scratch is healthier and more affordable (cheaper) than eating out or buying pre-packaged foods, and I do it whenever I can. I’ve got certain recipes down to a science so that they’re really no more difficult than convenience items. But I’m looking to expand my repertoire and also to get better about planning meals–which is always easier when you have a good list of family favorites to use.

So, as I said, I’ve been meaning to give this book a try for months now. Today’s the day I’m buying it. This is the testimonial that really sold me (from the website):

Grocery Bill Cut In Half!

“My original weekly food bill was $125.00. We have two adults, four kids and two cats. My grocery bill is now down to $65.00 – $75.00 per week. I call that a great savings!!! We still have steak and everything the kids weren’t willing to give up but I make a lot of things from scratch now using your book. They especially love the recipe for calzones!!!!” – Michele
