Thursday, October 30, Wichita is getting a new restaurant. Dickey’s Barbecue Pit will open its doors at 11 a.m. in the Central Park Place shopping center on North Maize Road next to Academy Sports and Outdoors. The bbq restaurant will host a three-day grand opening with giveaways and specials.
The first 50 guests in the store Thursday will receive gift cards worth up to $50. On Friday, guests can pick up merchandise giveaways including t-shirts, sunglasses and more. On Saturday, radio station 102.1 The Bull will be on-site from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. when one lucky winner will be chosen for a $500 gift card and three winners receive free barbecue for an entire year. All customers can pick up $2 pulled pork barbecue sandwiches during Saturday’s radio show.
The new Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in Wichita is located at 2768 North Maize Road, Suite 100. This is the second Dickey’s restaurant in the Wichita area; another one opened in Newton in May 2014.
Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. is the nation’s largest barbecue chain. The fast-casual restaurant serves Texas-style barbecue and slow-smokes meats onsite in each restaurant. On Sundays, kids eat free with the purchase of an adult meal, and the Dickey’s website says it has free ice cream every day.
