Tonight and tomorrow night (Friday and Saturday, June 14-15, 2012), fathers and grandfathers get free admission with a paying child admission to the Lake Afton Public Observatory.
The program for this weekend is Messier Album. Here’s the description from the observatory’s website:
Bring Dad to the Observatory for the program: Messier Album. Dad (or Granddad) receives free admission when accompanied by a paying child. (Limit one free admission per paying child.) During this program we he will get to use the Observatory’s 16-inch telescope to observe a supergiant red star nearing its ultimate death, a planetary nebula, a cluster of stars, a diffuse nebula and a spiral galaxy.
The program is from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. both nights. Remember to bring cash, since the observatory can’t accept credit or debit cards. Adult admission is $5, children 6-12 is $3, and under 6 is free.
