If you’re looking for a peaceful and Free Christmas outing in Wichita, the Prayer Garden Walk at Calvary’s Rock Church is a beautiful way to celebrate the season. Taking place December 15–21, 2025, this free event gives families a chance to slow down, enjoy the lights, and experience the story of Jesus Christ from prophecy to His birth.
I’m always searching for holiday activities that feel meaningful without adding extra cost to the season. This one is a gems a simple, memorable, and perfect for families who want a night out together without spending.

Guests will drive through a lighted entrance before parking and beginning a 20–25 minute walk on a paved, level path. Along the way, you’ll explore scenes surrounded by glowing Christmas lights as you follow the story of Christ’s birth. Kids tend to love this part, moving from one display to the next and pointing out their favorite lights.
After the walk, you can warm up by the fire pit, sip a hot cocoa, and toast a S’more something my girls always look forward to. Little ones can also visit with Santa, which makes the experience even more magical.
This is one of those outings where you can take your time, capture a few family photos, and soak in the season without the rush or big-ticket price tag. It’s a cozy, community-centered way to enjoy the holidays here in Wichita.
