Art Meets Nature in a Big Way at Botanica
Courtesy of Premier Sponsors Textron Aviation, Chase Koch Foundation, and Colby B. Sandlian, Botanica’s newest exhibit, Glass in Flight 2, brings the magic of art into the heart of the gardens. Featuring 25 vibrant, kiln-fired glass and metalwork sculptures made by artist Alex Heveri, each glass piece captures the graceful movement and intricate design of butterflies, bees, moths, and more. Towering up to 13 feet tall with wingspans stretching over 8 feet, these shimmering, larger-than-life insects are spread throughout the gardens, making for an interactive walk that’s perfect for snapping photos or just soaking in the scenery. “The level of craftsmanship in this exhibit is truly remarkable,” says Dr. Zimmerman, Executive Director at Botanica. “Each sculpture not only highlights the delicate structure of these creatures but also celebrates the essential role they play in our ecosystem.”
Family-Friendly Fun (on a Budget!)
