Botanica National Carousel Day: BOGO Rides

Sharing is caring!

Mark your calendar for National Carousel Day at Botanica Wichita on Friday, July 25. It’s a full day of fun centered around the historic carousel, and best of all, you’ll get Buy One, Get One FREE carousel rides all day long!

Before I became the “Wichita on the Cheap Lady,” I was the Director of Special Events at Botanica for nine years. This place will always hold a special place in my heart, especially the restored Joyland carousel. I had the privilege of working on that restoration project, and it’s still one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve ever been part of. Seeing families ride that beautifully restored piece of Wichita history is something I’ll never get tired of.

The carousel alone is worth the visit; it’s beautiful, nostalgic, and something my daughters never get tired of. But on National Carousel Day, there’s even more to enjoy when you can buy one, get one ride free!

What to Expect During the Day:

  • Buy One, Get One FREE carousel rides
  • Design your own carousel horse
  • Classic fair games
  • Special giveaways to take home

Evening Festivities (6 PM – 8 PM):

  • Live music by Vegan Shark on the Grand Lawn
  • Drinks from Bar on Demand
  • Cool treats from Cold Stone Creamery
  • Local food trucks serving dinner

All activities are included with general admission, so you can enjoy the beautiful gardens, the carousel celebration, and the evening concert all in one visit.

Whether you’re in it for the rides, the live music, or just a chance to soak up a summer evening in one of Wichita’s most beautiful spaces, National Carousel Day at Botanica is a perfect way to enjoy time together without spending a fortune.

Event Summary:

  • Date: Friday, July 25, 2025
  • Time: All day; live music from 6 PM – 8 PM
  • Cost: Included with general admission
  • Location: Botanica Wichita, 701 Amidon St, Wichita, KS 67203

Here’s a photo of my dad and me, recreating a memorable moment from my childhood. When I was a little girl, my family would take me to Joyland, and we’d always ride the carousel together. That memory stayed with me, so when the carousel was restored and reopened, we made sure to take the same photo this time with me as an adult and my dad still by my side.

Come out and celebrate a piece of Wichita history, enjoy the gardens, and make some unforgettable summer memories with your family!

Here are some pictures of the restoration process from my time at Botancia.
