This summer season is going to be a great one for concerts! Capitol Federal Amphitheater has three mini-music festivals coming up and all of them are going to be awesome. There’s the Red Dirt Roundup in June, the Blues & Brews Festival in July, and the Alt 107.3 Birthday Bash in August 2019. If you want to go to all three, be sure to save some money with the Season Ticket Pass available now on their website.
The Blues & Brews Festival is happening on July 20th, and there’s a great lineup! Headlining the concert is veteran blues guitarist, singer and songwriter Walter Trout. They also got Tab Benoit, the Terry Quiett Band, and Dustin Arbuckle!
Wichita native Dustin Arbuckle will kick off the festival. Have you ever heard this guy play the harmonica? You must! (He’s also a vocalist.) Formerly one-half of the duo Moreland and Arbuckle, his new project is Dustin Arbuckle and the Damnations. A couple of their popular hits are “Say My Name” and “Get Away.”
The Kansas roots continue next with electric blues and rock group, the Terry Quiett Band. You’ll be won over by their “energetic and soulful sound made up of rootsy slidework and a bluesy, contemporary twist on vintage sould and R&B.” A couple of their top songs include “Long Saturday Night” and “Pound of Flesh.”
Then, you guys, Tab Benoit! He’s a Cajun with the blues and Louisiana native, and you can hear it in his music. He’s a three-time Grammy nominated, four-time Blues Music Awards Entertainer of the Year (I believe it), and a five-time Contemporary Male Blues Music Awards winner. Some of his top songs are “Darkness,” “Shelter Me,” and “Midnight and Lonesome.”
Finally, #1 Billboard Blues chart sensation Walter Trout will take the stage. He’ll wrap up the wonderful evening of blues music with hits like “We’re All in This Together” (not the High School Musical version, lol). That song has won four awards for Blues Rock Album of the Year. This veteran blues performer has recently released a new album, Survivor’s Blues.
