Free pizza Friday for the grand opening of Blaze Pizza in Wichita

Sharing is caring!

Blaze Pizza is opening a location in Wichita this week, and to celebrate the grand opening, they’re offering FREE build-your-own artisanal pizzas on Friday to everyone who follows them on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram.

The concept sounds great; from what I understand, it’s like the Chipotle of pizza places. You walk through the line and have them add whatever ingredients you want, then they fire it in the pizza oven. One of the best parts is that all this quality goodness is going to be affordable – about $8 per 11″ pie. And they serve s’mores for dessert.

Here’s how they describe themselves:

“Blaze Pizza is a modern day “pizza joint” serving up artisanal pizzas that are both fast and affordable.  Since its first restaurant debuted in 2012, Blaze has quickly become one of the nation’s hottest restaurant concepts, with fans lining up each day for the custom-built pizzas, freshly made salads, blood orange lemonade and s’more pies. Each restaurant features an interactive open-kitchen format that allows guests to customize one of the menu’s signature pizzas or create their own, choosing from a wide selection of fresh, artisanal ingredients – all for about $8.  The generously-sized personal pizzas are then sent to a blazing hot open-flame oven – the centerpiece of the restaurant – where dedicated pizzasmiths ensure that the thin-crust pies are fast-fire’d and ready to eat in just 180 seconds. Restaurants make their own dough from scratch using a recipe developed by critically-acclaimed Executive Chef Bradford Kent (the “Pizza Whisperer”), which requires a 24-hour fermentation period to produce his signature light-as-air, crisp crust.  All of the pizza and salad ingredients are free of artificial flavors, colors, preservatives and for pizza fans with specific dietary needs, Blaze Pizza offers gluten-free dough and vegan cheese. The Wichita restaurant will also feature a selection of wine and draft beer.”

That all sounds pretty good. The new location is near Bed Bath & Beyond and the Wichita Sports Forum at 2692 N. Greenwich Ct. in east Wichita. That’s just north of K-96 and Greenwich.

The FREE pizzas will be offered Friday, September 15, from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. There’s only seating for 80 in the new restaurant, so expect some lines that day.

If you’d rather go when it’s less crowded, the restaurant’s first day of operation in Wichita is actually Thursday, September 14.

Blaze Pizza has more than 200 restaurants in the U.S. and Canada, and has grown rapidly since its first store opened in Irvine, California in 2012. (We have a few Wichita-born restaurants that can relate to that.)

Should be fun! Share this article with your friends.
