Blast to the Past Block Party at the Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum

FREE block party at Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum It’s a blast to the past at this block party. The Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum is hosting a Block Party at the corner of William and Main Streets on Saturday, October 5, 2013. Admission to the party is FREE, and you can get in free to the museum that day too.

A Blast to the Past will begin at noon on Saturday. Bring the family to enjoy the fun, including:

  • Cosmic eats and treats
  • Music – The Southeast High School Band and “Pop and the Boys”
  • Antique Automobiles
  • Reenactors from Wichita’s colorful past
  • Tours of the Museum including the famous City Hall Clock Tower

At 1:00 p.m., from the Mayor’s Balcony at 204 S. Main St., Wichita’s 1892 Mayor John B. Carey (as interpreted by local actor John Boldenow) will speak, followed by an important announcement by local dignitaries.

Celebrate our local history at Blast to the Past, enjoying four floors of exhibits in the original Wichita city hall building, and partying like it’s 1899.
