The Finishing School for Modern Women and PourHouse by Walnut River Brewing Company are joining forces to form an alliance of Badass Women in Wichita!
They’re inviting women of all ages to join the inclusive society for discussions and actions that build community, empower women, and develop badassery. Other women’s organizations are also invited to get involved and to work together to broaden the community of women helping women in Wichita.
This month, the Badass Women of Wichita Alliance will be hosting the following events. Cost and requirements are listed for each.
Monday evenings at PourHouse by Walnut River Brewing Company, 711 E. Douglas Ave. from 6-8 p.m. Discussion and actions that build community, champion non-profits, and further develop badassery. Open to the public. Complimentary appetizers and soft drinks. Cash bar and food available to order.
February 7 – Program: Love Yo Self
“Valentines Day is coming and who do want to show your love? The longest relationship we have in our lives is with ourselves, so why not make it you? Learning to love ourselves gives us the power to make better choices, transform dysfunctional relationships, and live our best lives. In this Badass Finishing School workshop, we’ll explore how to make peace with our inner critic, accept and connect to how we see ourselves, and discover how to appreciate our awesomeness more fully.”
February 21 – Building Community: Society of Women Engineers
“The Society of Women Engineers is planning a live Engineering EXPO for kids K-8 grade, scheduled for April 9, 2022, in the EXPO Hall of Century II in Wichita. It has invited us to join them at this planning meeting to brainstorm how to provide new hands-on experiences with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) experiments. Learn more about the EXPO, its volunteer opportunities and help brainstorm or just listen in.”
February 28 – Now is the Winter of our Disco Tent Party
“Raise your hand if you experience SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder), otherwise known as the winter blues? Now, throw your hands in the air and party like you just don’t care with the Badass Women of Wichita Alliance disco party with DJ Ruby Retro, aka Terri Mott!
