The Orpheum Theater and the Kansas Aviation Museum have teamed up for a special Aviation Film Festival on August 13, 2011.
In the morning, at 10 a.m., the topic will be the World War II era with the film The Flying Tiger, short films, and a guest speaker. Admission for the morning will be $5. In the afternoon, at 2 p.m., the focus will be on aviation during the Cold War era with the movie Dr. Strangelove, short films, historic footage, and a guest speaker. The admission for the afternoon matinee is also $5.
In the evening there will be a reception with light appetizers, beverages, and silent auction at 6 p.m., followed by the movie Air Force One, “Movie Tone News,” and a guest speaker that will focus on aviation in the modern era. Admission for both the reception and the evening presentation is only $10.
