Sharing is caring!
A local 12-year-old in Wichita is creating art to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Hospital more than 40 years after St. Jude saved her uncle. Taylor Price is a 12-year-old at Andover Central Middle School and a budding artist. She had an idea to start a business making bracelets while she was home during COVID-19 and wanted to use it to support St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
St. Jude saved Taylor’s uncle when he was a baby, and the family has always supported St. Jude as their charity of choice. At 9 years old she started “Crafts for Cancer” to make money for craft supplies and support St. Jude. She has hosted a craft-making fundraiser every year since last year, raising over $500 in sales & donations for St. Jude.
She is hosting a booth at the Wichita Children’s Business Fair on September 30th from 10am-1pm featuring buttons, posters, and stickers with her original artwork. She has plans to start another business called “Crafts for College” to earn money to attend Savannah College of Art and Design.
St. Jude saved my uncle over 40 years ago, and she wanted to use her art to save others like him.
