Melodrama at Cowtown at the Empire House Theater

Sharing is caring!

The Old Cowtown Museum’s theatrical troupe, Empire House Players, is presenting a melodrama at Cowtown Empire House Theater this September.

This will be a fun, all-ages theatrical performance, and priced very reasonably for a night out on the town!

What is a Melodrama?

  • Characters in melodramas express heightened emotions and reactions, often to an extreme degree.
  • They are always about good and evil.
  • Plots often involve dramatic events, such as abductions, murders, and natural disasters, to keep the audience engaged.

Fun Fact: Empire House Players are volunteers. Proceeds from performances and any donations you make go right back into making shows possible.

Clothes Call or… Caught in the Fabric of Your Lies, by Patricia Middleton
Chantilly Lace moves to Burlap Gap to be the new cook and housekeeper for ranch owner Hugo Boss. She meets Levi Wrangler, who owns the homestead next door, and it’s love at first sight. But Hugo Boss wants his daughter, Velvet Velour, to marry Levi so he can add his farmland to his spread. Can Hugo stymie the star-crossed lovers? Does Levi manage to hold on to his home while losing his heart? Can Chantilly see through Hugo’s fibs and fabrications? Will Hugo’s ranch hands agree to wearing fringed fancy duds to the big square dance? Find out in this mod, madcap Midwest melodrama!
