Do you work downtown or nearby? There’s a beautiful spot to have your lunch and you can get free admission to the Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum after you’ve finished eating.
Heritage Square is a picturesque and shade-dappled area directly behind the museum on the corner of Main Street and William in downtown Wichita.
From now through June 30, you may bring your lunch to enjoy in Heritage Square, then after you’re done you get free admission to tour the museum (no food and drink is allowed in the museum) or get a FREE pass to return another day.
This is a fabulous museum, housed in a building which is itself a part of Wichita’s history. The striking clocktower building, which was designed by architects Proudfoot and Bird, was once our City Hall.
It became the new home of the Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum in 1981. The exhibits relate Wichita and Sedgwick County’s history from 1865 to the present.
This will be a great way to enjoy the spring weather and will provide a refreshing lunchtime change of view! The museum is open Tuesdays through Fridays (closed on Monday) during the lunch hour. On weekends, it opens at 1 p.m., so I’m not sure this deal is available then?
