Substantial ticket discount for advance purchase to Mid-America All-Indian Center’s “Share Our Food” dinner

Sharing is caring!

Wichita’s Mid-America All-Indian Center will host an event this month that highlights the food and way of life of the native American Indian. “Share Our Food” will include sampling authentic American Indian recipes, a wine tasting, hearing the stories behind the food, and touring the Mid-America All-Indian Center Museum.

There is a substantial discount if you purchase your tickets in advance. Tickets are $35 when purchased in advance at IndianCenter.org. If you wait, you’ll pay $50 at the door!

The event will be held Thursday evening, November 17, from 6-8 p.m. Here’s more information from a press release sent out today:

“Join us for our annual Share Our Food event from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17 (doors open at 5:30 p.m.). This foodie-centric evening features authentic American Indian recipes. The evening will engage the senses as guests hear about the history of American Indian food, smell the delicious aroma in the air and taste the finished dishes. Share Our Food highlights the fact that ingredients in American Indian recipes have stories of their own to tell, giving insight into the American Indian way of life through generations by using modern versions of traditional recipes from across the country.

“Jack Oliver and Barbara Baan of KEYN and Catrina Red Willow of the Oglala Sioux tribe will emcee this foodie-centric evening featuring authentic American Indian recipes. Wine tasting presented by Ken Mayfield of Smoky Hill Vineyards and Winery. Proceeds benefit educational outreach programs. The museum will be open from 5:30-8 p.m. with free admission for dinner guests.

“Tickets are $35 in advance and can be purchased online at www.indiancenter.org or by calling 316-350-3345. Tickets will also be available at the door for $50. Groups of 10 may reserve a table with a single payment for all 10 tickets, if seating permits.

“Mid-America All-Indian Center is dedicated to educating people about and preserving the heritage of the American Indian. The museum is located at the confluence of the Little & Big Arkansas Rivers and is open Tuesday thru Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
