Summer Fun at the Great Plains Nature Center

Need something fun to do with the kids this summer? Stop by the Great Plains Nature Center and tour the Koch Habitat Hall, with hands-on, interactive displays for all ages. It’s always free.

While you’re there, pick up a free copy of the latest Pocket Guide. These are excellent publications that help you understand and identify native Kansas wildlife and plant life.

You may also want to participate in one of the free or inexpensive educational programs offered by the Great Plains Nature Center.

Kids Storytime The GPNC has a free story time on Wednesdays at 11 a.m. It’s primarily designed for preschool and kindergarten-age kids, but everyone is welcome. No registration required.

Nature Adventures Great for all ages. Each Wednesday from June 6 to July 25, 2012, one of the GPNC’s naturalists will share their knowledge of nature and wildlife. Nature adventures are free and registration is not required.

Wednesdays at 1:30 p.m.
