This isn’t new, but it could be very helpful to anyone who does not currently have prescription insurance coverage. Sedgwick County offers a free prescription discount card, accepted by over 80 pharmacies, to any Sedgwick County resident. It may even provide some discounts for your pet’s prescriptions!
If you already have insurance that covers prescriptions, including Medicaid or HealthWave, this card will not save you anything extra. But if you’re uninsured or if your insurance does not cover prescriptions, you could save an average of 13% on brand name medications and an average of 35% on generic medications.
The discount card is not insurance. All you have to do to get the free prescription card is print it out or pick it up from one of the locations listed at the Sedgwick County website.
