The Kansas Firefighters Alliance and the Kansas Firefighters Museum is once again offering a free Firefighters Camp for 6-9th graders.
This is a one-day camp for up to the first 100 students who pre-register for the event by completing and submitting the registration form, postmarked no later than April 1, 2017.
The camp will give would-be firefighters hands-on experience into the world of firefighting to help them determine if it’s the right career for them. They’ll have an opportunity to participate in hands-on activity stations like:
- Search Maze
- Water Rescue
- High Angle Repelling
- Hose Pull/Firefighter Hose Line Battle
- Medical
- Bucket Brigade
- Search and Rescue
- Bunker Gear Race
- HAZMAT Station
- and more
Stations will be led by real firefighters from multiple fire departments in Kansas.
The free firefighters camp will be held at South High School, 701 W. 33rd Street South, on Saturday, April 29, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
