Can it be 50 years since we first heard William Shatner talk about his “five year mission” to explore the final frontier? The Star Trek series premiered in September 1966, and the Wichita Public Library is celebrating with a free screening of two films.
One is a popular 1982 Star Trek film. We don’t want to stir the wrath of licencors, so I’m not naming it here, but you can google or do the Vulcan mind-meld to find out.
The second is a 1996 documentary about Star Trek fans.
The film screenings are completely free and open to the public. They will be held in the Central Branch Library’s third floor auditorium. The first film will start at 1 p.m. and the second will begin at 3:30 p.m. Both films are rated PG.
Boldly go to the Library’s event page on Facebook for more information and updates.

Awesome! I moved here from Houston and this is really helping me find things to enjoy on a budget.
Thanks for doing this!
You are so welcome, Delle! And thank you so much for the kind words! <3
