The Kindness Club at Pleasantview Elementary School in Derby received a grant to put together a community rock garden. The students want people in the community to join them and help create the painted rocks on Saturday, November 18, from noon-2 p.m. at English Park.
The rocks and paint will be provided for free. The Big Apple food truck will also be on site offering food for purchase.
In addition, The Kindness Club at Pleasantview Elementary School will have tickets to Disney World to give away via a drawing of the participants who attend the free rock painting day. The club was selected as part of a pilot program offered by The Walt Disney Company. This pilot program donates FREE Walt Disney World (Florida) tickets to organizations that promote family volunteering. The tickets do NOT include transportation, only park entry. The more participants who attend the rock painting event, the more tickets they will be able to raffle off! (The Disney tickets will be available after the first of the year and are good for TWO years.) So sign up, come out to paint rocks and get entered for a chance to win admission tickets to Disney World!
