Celebrate the 4th of July with Wichita’s biggest Independence Day party, Red, White & BOOM, at Riverfront Stadium. This FREE event is open to the public. The Riverfront Stadium will open at 6 p.m., and food trucks will surround the Hyatt Lawn. Then, enjoy the fireworks in downtown Wichita.
This spectacular event, presented by Evergy and co-sponsored by the Wichita Parks Foundation and Wichita Park & Recreation, is said to be the largest fireworks display in the region.
Red, White & BOOM Fireworks in Downtown Wichita:
Riverfront Stadium. The gates open at 6 p.m. for holiday-goers to enjoy concessions in the stadium, entertainment provided by the Wind Surge, and great seats to watch the fireworks show! Pro Tip: dont forget your clear bag for the stadium policy.
Live Music at Riverfront Stadium. The Astronauts will be playing starting at 7:45.
Hyatt Lawn. A variety of food trucks will be onsite at the Hyatt Lawn for spectators to enjoy. Don’t forget to bring a blanket or lawn chairs to sit on while you wait for the show to start. Watching the festive fireworks from the lawn is a tradition you don’t want to miss!
Closures. McLean Ave from Maple to Douglas will be closed from 5 pm until after the fireworks (about 10:30 pm). The Lewis St. bridge, from Maple & McLean to the entrance of the Hyatt will be closed. The Arkansas River will be closed from the Lewis St. bridge to north of the property line. The walking path along the west side of the Arkansas adjacent to Riverfront Stadium will be closed from 7 am to 10:30 pm. The walking path along the west side of the Arkansas River that is adjacent to Riverfront Stadium will be closed from 7am-10:30pm.
Parking: Spectators can take advantage of Free parking at the following locations:
- The surface lot east of the Hyatt at Waterman & Main St.
- The surface lot south of the Hyatt
- The gravel parking lots west of the Riverfront Stadium
