Sharing is caring!
The Derby Bead Guild meets at the Derby Public Library on the first Tuesday of every month, and beaders of all skill levels are invited to join them. Your first meeting is FREE.
The guild promotes all areas of beading and jewelry making, and provides an opportunity for beaders to pool their knowledge of techniques, as well as offer support and encouragement to each other. The monthly meetings are preceded by an open beading time at 4 p.m., then the meeting begins at 6:15 p.m. with a short business meeting followed by the presentation of a new jewelry making technique and helpful tips.
If you decide to join, membership is only $15 per year. The Derby Bead Guild is open to all beaders above the age of 13 years old.
For more information, email derbybeadguild@gmail.com or visit their Facebook page.
At the February 7 meeting, you’ll learn how to make origami boxes! This is a handy craft to learn and very frugal, since you can use a variety of paper (I use junk mail!) to make them, and they can be used to sort and organize any small items – from jewelry findings to paperclips.
