The Autumn Benefit Powwow will be held on Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Mid-America All-Indian Center at 650 N. Seneca near downtown Wichita.
The powwow will include gourd dancing from 1-5 p.m. and a grand entry of intertribal dancers at 6:30 p.m. The closing song is scheduled for 10 p.m.

The Autumn Benefit Powwow is free and open to the public. Donations, however, will be accepted. All money raised from the powwow will be used to help fund the 2012 American Indian Festival at Century II.

This year, the powwow will include a Book and Art Sale, with books, magazines, CDs, posters that relate to American Indians as well as other topics. Proceeds from the Book and Art Sale will be used to purchase artwork for the Indian Center museum as well as new books and media for the museum’s reference library.

Both the Book and Art Sale and the Autumn Benefit Powwow will take place indoors at the Indian Center, 650 N. Seneca. The hours for the sale are 1-8 p.m.; the powwow will take place from 1-10 p.m.
