Local business owners Trent and Mollie Schell are opening a new resale store, Uptown Cheapskate of East Wichita, which will open on April 20th, 2023. Uptown Cheapskate, a trendy teen, and young adult fashion exchange, is located in the Shops at Tallgrass at 8340 E 21st N, Suite 200 in Wichita. The store pays shoppers cash for their clothes, shoes, and other apparel items and resells them at highly discounted prices.
Uptown Cheapskate is now open for customers to sell their items for cash or in-store credit. After six-eight weeks of buying only, the east Wichita store will celebrate its Grand Opening. Customers can then shop brand name and designer clothing at up to 70 percent less than retail prices. In addition to carrying hundreds of recycled items, the new Uptown Cheapskate store will also offer many new products, including jewelry, shoes, and assorted clothing items.
“We will begin buying Monday thru Saturday from 10 am-6 pm,” Mollie said. “We are excited to share our beautiful new store and look forward to our customers preparing their closets to clean out, cash in, and trade up.” Trent and Mollie are the owners of the existing Uptown Cheapskate at 21st & Tyler Rd, which has been open since 2010. “Our customers have been asking for quite some time for an east side location,” Schell said. “We think we have found a convenient location to make it easy to both shop and sell items.”
